Entrepreneurs and the Growth of Jewish Business in Youngstown

Youngstown has long been a center of business and industry, despite its periods of up and downward turns. Several of the most successful and recognizable ventures in the city were the result of Jewish entrepreneurship. For example, Warner Brothers film company started with the Warner family from Youngstown.

Though not all have had the national and international recognition like the Warner Brothers, other local business have thrived and greatly influenced the Youngstown community. The Jewish Archives Collection includes personal documents from these entrepreneurs, along with some advertisements, pictures, and newspaper articles. The links on this page illustrate the diversity of Jewish entrepreneurship and their dedication to the city of Youngstown and its progress.
