The Anne Kilcawley Christman Hands-On History Room

Located in the lower level of the Arms Family Museum of Local History, in the space occupied by the log cabin, this room will allow visitors of all ages and learning styles the opportunity to interact on a more personal level with the history of the Mahoning Valley. Visitors can try to survey the gallery space and explore the method for surveying the Western Reserve. Lincoln Logs will allow children to build their own log cabin to match the cabin already in the room. Costumes representing different periods of Mahoning Valley history will allow families to explore the ways that people dress changed during the different periods in the Valley's history. Computer programs and board games will encourage deeper investigation of themes in the Valley's past. Crafts and activities will accompany books that will cover different aspects of the Valley's history.

Hours of operation for the museum are Tuesday through Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
