The Mahoning Valley Historical Society's archives contains tens of thousands of items in collections associated with local families, individuals, organizations, businesses, and industries located in or having connections to the Mahoning Valley.

This geographic region is defined by the Mahoning River Watershed and includes: Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana, parts of Stark & Portage Counties in Ohio and parts of Lawrence and Mercer Counties in Pennsylvania.

The MVHS archival holdings include but are not limited to: diaries, Bibles, photographs, fraktur, manuscripts, deeds, wills, maps, architectural and mechanical drawings, ledgers, county and local government records, published works and ephemera.

Services include photograph and document reproductions, genealogical materials, and staff conducted research for out of town patrons.

 

 

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society educates and promotes an interest in the history of the Mahoning Valley by collecting, preserving, and developing material representative of the people who have inhabited the region.
