The Mahoning Valley Historical Society's collection contains tens of thousands of items associated with local families, individuals, organizations, businesses, and industries located in or having connections to the Mahoning Valley.

This geographic region is defined by the Mahoning River Watershed and includes: Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana, parts of Stark & Portage Counties in Ohio and parts of Lawrence and Mercer Counties in Pennsylvania.

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society educates and promotes an interest in the history of the Mahoning Valley by collecting, preserving, and developing material representative of the people who have inhabited the region.
